ABOUT ME
Guitarist, Performer, Composer
Since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with exploring the boundaries of my imagination. Looking to create as much as possible, I found an outlet through music. At the age of nine, I started my journey as a guitarist, and my calling became clear to me. In my teens, listening to Dream Theater, Genesis and Alan Parsons Project, I surrounded myself in progressive rock legends. As time went by I felt a decline in the creativity and richness of popular music, and decided to take upon myself the mission of writing music that will combine elements of pop and the sound and writing of prog, and offer the pop genre a more diverse pallet of sounds and musical ideas. During my service, I discovered like-minded spirits who wanted to form a band. I met one of my collaborators, Gal, with whom I played in an ensemble for music enthusiasts. Between our influences, we create a fresh sound within the rock genre. As a naturally shy person, self expression is not something that comes easy to me, so in that sense, music serves as my voice, my own way of communicating the thoughts and ideas inside my head. My music is inspired mostly by the atmosphere I want to convey, and the the story I want to tell, because I feel like the music has a stronger emotional impact when it is associated with a bigger picture. In my own experience, when the music is a part of a greater musical world, it’s easier for me to become invested in it. In order to achieve that, I consider the qualities and characteristics of each possible instrument, each melodic line, and figure out which ones to choose in order to paint the picture I have in my head. Hopefully my music will move and inspire as much as I’d like my words to, and will help others through their own lives. Every idea I come up with is sent in my head to a specific concept album, according to the vibe I receive from it. I am currently writing several concept albums, the main one being on I story inspired by Gal’s experience in the Israeli Defense Force, witnessing a pastoral village being blown to pieces in one moment. The album is about a person inner journey of dealing and coping with trauma. Other albums address topics like, mysterious forgotten memories, exploration of dreams, and space carnival. Aside from that I am working on an independent project, where I write guitar centered instrumental rock and 80’s fusion in the style of UZEB and Tribal Tech.
